Jack has been the Pastor at Crosswater since 2008. Jack and Ann have five children and several grandchildren. Jack uses his down-home sense of humor, with his natural southern accent, to teach the practical truths of the Bible. It is his goal to help people live their lives to their fullest by becoming fully devoted followers of Christ. Jack’s leadership is a combination of his involvement in many aspects of life. He has a Masters in Theology, has finished half of his MBA, has an earned doctorate from the largest seminary in the world, and yet is as approachable and down to earth as he can be. He has served churches all across the south in Florida, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina and Georgia.
To offset his southern heritage, Jack is married to a Boston native to keep him in balance. Jack has served in leadership positions that include major leadership roles in Christian denominations and as Chaplain for the NFL Miami Dolphins. Jack has a business background in information technology and sales. He has served as a motivational speaker for corporations. Jack is an avid University of Alabama football fan!

Beginnings: We moved to South Florida when I was only 5 years old. I grew up in the Pompano/Ft. Lauderdale area and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. We have also lived in North Carolina and Tennessee. My wife, a Jacksonville native, does not miss cold weather at all.
People: My awesome wife of 43 years, Loraine. We have two amazing sons: Bobby and Sean. Both are married and live in this area. Bobby and his wife Malinda have a son who is now 21. Sean and Sara have not started a family yet but we are hopeful they will get started soon. Sean is a wounded warrior who served in Afghanistan.
Listen: Contemporary Christian music mostly but also enjoy Southern Gospel and the old Hymns I grew up with. And, as a child of the 60’s I also enjoy Journey and Boston and the other great groups.
Watch: Anything with John Wayne, westerns and action movies.
Read: The greatest book ever written, the Bible. Also, books related to Men’s Ministry, Marriage and Church leadership. For fun, Clive Cussler and Louis L’Amour adventures.
Misc: We live with a big, Chocolate Lab named Herschel who thinks he’s human and we love anything connected to the water, especially sailing. Love serving at Crosswater!

WORSHIP & CREATIVE ARTS PASTOR
Beginnings: I spent the first several years of my life in an RV as my father traveled the country as an evangelist with Christ is the Answer crusades, big tent revival style! At age 5, we settled down in a small town in upstate NY near the Finger Lakes. After graduating high school, I moved across the country to Southern California where I began serving in ministry for the next 20 years up until coming to Crosswater in 2017. Also spent a few years in Vancouver, Canada where I met my wife and started a family!
People: Christ has been my rock since I gave my life to him at a summer camp as a middle school student. I love spending time with my beautiful wife Julie and our 3 incredible children, Faith, Sam, and Nate. We love going to the beach, amusement parks, and seeking out the adventure that can be found in every day. God has truly blessed us with an amazing family.
Learning: From 1999-2003, I went to Film School at Orange Coast College and majored in Film and Creative Arts. And I also spent a little time with the US Navy in special warfare/special ops.
Listen: I grew up listening to 90’s alternative rock and British pop rock. I had a huge CD binder full of DCTalk, Newsboys, U2, Oasis, Weezer, Counting Crows, and all the Seattle based bands. Today, I listen mostly to Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Hillsong Young & Free, Jesus Culture, and anything Bethel Music puts out.
Watch: I primarily watch sports, and I still catch SNL most weeks. I really enjoyed The Office a few years back, but am currently sucked into AMC’s The Walking Dead right now. I also LOVE going to the movies, even though it’s mostly kid’s movies these days.
Read: The Bible. Rick Warren, Andy Stanley, Francis Chan, Simon Sinek, Malcolm Gladwell (Outliers and The Tipping Point are two of my favorite books of all time).
Misc: I can be a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I love hanging off cliffs or rappelling down a giant waterfall. I’m a huge Steelers fan, and of course of my SoCal teams, the Lakers and the Angels. You can be sure to find me planning some crazy road trip that will include an Angels game somewhere along the way!
Beginnings: I was born in Columbia, S.C., but moved when I was really young to Charleston, S.C. where I lived until I was 22 years old.
People: My family is the most important people (other than Jesus) in my life. I love spending time with them, even if it is just hanging out, and having the opportunity to coach some of my daughters’ sports teams.
Learning: I graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in History and went on to get my Master’s of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
Listen: I love Christian rap. Lecrae, KJ52, Kirk Franklin (old school)and Tedashii can often be heard blaring from the family truck.
