Crosswater Community Church seeks to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. We desire to be a connection point for everyone and develop followers of Jesus through relationships, discipleship, and leadership development.

The Hub is a place for students and their friends. Our youth ministry meets every Sunday morning all year, as well as Wednesday evenings during the school year.

The Youth Pastor has the unique privilege and responsibility to provide spiritual leadership to our youth by actively living out faith (both in work and outside of work) in a way that reflects the love and character of Jesus Christ. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of middle school and high school ministries. This includes the design and execution of programming for group environments, discipling students and volunteer leaders, and recruiting and pouring into others to meet the mission, vision, beliefs and values of Crosswater Community Church. This role will also support other NextGen ministry areas as needed.



Youth Environments / Programming

  • Provide vision, direction and leadership for programming and teaching for Sunday morning and Wednesday night youth programs. This includes overseeing organizing, leadership and resourcing for large and small groups.
  • Implement curriculum and content to help create an engaging Youth environment for different age groups and ministry environments to ensure growth in personal discipleship among attendees.
  • Collaborate with other ministry teams to ensure excellence in all components of youth programming (ex: worship and production teams, people, details, elements, scheduling, etc.) of large group programs.
  • Provide online engagement opportunities for youth (meet students where they are at) that reflect the love of Jesus. This includes maintaining all CCC Youth Social Media accounts and posting regularly.


Leadership Development / Volunteering / Relational Connections

  • Relationships with students is a priority. On a continual basis, effectively pastor and shepherd those connected to youth through one-on-ones, group events/appreciation, attending school functions, outings, etc.
  • Student Leadership Team Development: oversee the recruiting, assimilation, training and placement of volunteers, coaches, and/or interns within Youth.
  • Collaborate closely with the NextGen team and other ministries to ensure overall youth ministry success within CCC. This includes engagement and partnership with parents and families.
  • Contribute to the oversight or collaboration of developing small group leaders to equip them to effectively shepherd and pour into students.
  • Support NextGen Pastor in CCC community and other outreach initiatives, including creating outreach connection and engagement opportunities for youth and families. This includes partnership and engagement with schools in the community and attending events youth are involved in, outside of church (ex: sports games, performances, etc.)


Youth Events / Outreach / Ministry

  • Create, attend ad support and supporting conferences, camps, retreats and other special events to support Youth. This includes all administrative tasks related to trip and event planning.
  • Support other ministries. Effectively integrate students into all-church events and partner with other ministries. Collaboration and trust are essential.
  • Support NextGen Pastor in CCC community and other outreach initiatives, including creating outreach / service connection and engagement opportunities for youth and families.
  • Provide opportunities for students to pursue baptism, become leaders, and provide pastoral care.
  • Be excellent in all you do. Effectively manage and execute on all administrative tasks related to youth and collaborate with other support staff.


  • Minimum of three years of church experience working directly or serving in a high capacity within youth.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Scripture and biblical theology. Ability to clearly and consistently communicate the Gospel, in both word and deed.
  • Strong understanding of needs and developing trends for teens.
  • Desire to continually learn: keep on the cutting edge of student ministry, pursuing personal growth and healthy development mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, open to feedback.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent in education, experience, and training) in youth ministry or a related degree or seminary strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, manage and train individual volunteers and volunteer teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and effectively (written and oral) with diverse groups.
  • Experience in programming coordination, implementation, and execution in a creative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skill with ability to effectively coordinate and schedule.
  • Experience in database management systems. Experience in Planning Center / Fellowship One a plus.
  • Ability to engage effectively and positively with groups and individuals on a variety of social media platforms in a way that reflects Jesus Christ.

Job Summary:

This full-time position will be responsible for ensuring a positive first-impression for Crosswater Community Church (CC) by serving its visitors, congregants, and members. Major duties include greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. This role is also responsible for maintaining security and communications systems, answering inquiries, and directing visitors to appropriate staff personnel. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(included but not limited to)

  • Serves visitors, congregants and members by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately to CCC staff, groups, meetings, or others events and services being offered by CCC.
  • Maintains telecommunications system. Responsible for quickly answering the CC main line phone system and directing calls and answering questions, as appropriate.  Responds in a courteous, patient, knowledgeable and caring manner at all times.
  • Maintains security by overseeing all visitors, congregants and members that enter the building during normal business hours. Ensures people are allowed in to church building and staff administration area, as appropriate. Maintains security by following procedures and monitoring logbook.
  • Maintains general electronic email system for CCC (general email inbox). Responsible for answering emails and referring inquires timely and directing email to the appropriate ministry staff member or lead, as appropriate.  
  • Closely partners with other ministries to ensure questions that go through the front desk are handled timely, offering support when needed. Supports continuity among ministry teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Manages all mail that comes through, signing off on mail packages and distributing mail to departments in a timely manner. 
  • Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to collaborative team ministry efforts by supporting other ministries with administrative requests and needed, as asked.
  • Responsible for managing and recruiting volunteers to work the front desk reception area during business hours whenever coverage is needed.  

Expectations & Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and at least two years of receptionist or administrative experience. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. Able to respond professionally, both verbally and electronically, in a courteous and timely manner. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and other factors. Be a proactive self-directed and a problem solver, tending to problems before they arise.
  • The person must have strong oral and written communication skills in order to interact with visitors, churchgoers, members, and community liaisons in a way that is professional and represents the love of Christ. 
  • Knowledgeable and trustworthy; ability to handle secure areas and ensure safety throughout CCC.
  • Familiarity with phone systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Planning Center and Slack a plus.  
  • Physical Requirements: This position is mostly sedentary. Ability to type and sit at desk and computer for 6-8 hours per day. Minimal bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting up to 25lbs.
